Better get to bed.

I guess that’s about it. Pretty mild out here in Toronto…. so far touring in winter hasn’t been too bad.

Peace out!

Hey Colin! I met you last night in Kitchener. We talked about your new puppy. I guess I got nervous, what I really wanted to say is thank you so much for being such a wonderful artist. I am a fitness instructor for the YMCA in Brantford and it would have never been as great a journey without your music to play to the participants. I adore your music and feel you are a down to earth great guy. One question I forgot to ask last night was what inspires you the most. If I had to guess I would say it was your family. That is what inspires me to help others get healthy.

Well thanks again for an outstanding show, I was in the front row centre seat loving every minute of your playing. I hope you will do another meet and greet another time, maybe I wont be so nervous.

Thanks again and keep up the awesome work because it is really appreciated.

    Love Amy

Hey Colin! I wrote to you earlier this evening, not sure if you received it or not so here it goes again.

I met you last night at the meet and greet, we talked about your puppy. I was very nervous, what I wanted to say was thank you for being such a wonderful artist. I am a fitness instructor for the YMCA in Brantford and my journey this far would not have been the same with out your music to play to the participants. A question that I wanted to ask was “what inspires you”? If I had to guess I would say your family. That is what keeps me going.

Well thanks again for an outstanding show last night, my husband and I had front row centre seats and we fully enjoyed your playing as always. We hope you do another meet and greet in the future, maybe this time I won’t be so nervous:)

Thanks again and keep up the awesome work!

dear colin, I work as a nurse looking after people with dementia- last week one of my beloved residents passed away- her devoted husband put all their photos on DVD’s with her favorite music and daily would try to connect this way-the week she died I happened to find “Photo-graph”as I was getting ready for your Ottawa concert-it was so fitting I played it at her funeral-her son is a photographer + it meant so much-could you play it in Ottawa? thank you so much… you have touched so many hearts

Sure missing seeing you perform. Love the new cd Rooftops and Satellites. Since I couldn’t be at Massey Hall tonight I just cranked up the cd on my way home after working late. Hope to get a chance sometime this year to see you. Being married is the pits. Can’t travel to see you as much as I have in the past.

Hope your concerts are all sold out and your travels are clean sailing.

    All the Best – Hipgrandma

What a great show in Toronto tonight.
    Never lets us down.
    Two hours of great music
    Great to hear National Steel.
    Colin mentioned Colin Linden.
Wonder if Colin knows that Colin Linden is playing Hugh’s Room in Toronto with his brother Jay on Wednesday night.
Can you imagine having Colin James there as well?

PS. My wife Jan used to work at Warner Music when you were with them.
She still remembers meeting you back then

Hope the rest of the tour goes as well as it did tonight.
    Enjoy Vancouver 2010.

Your wife and kids are going to Hawaii?

Colin, I was one of the lucky people in the audience last night at Massey Hall….you rocked!! Such a hard working pure talented man and band! It was a pleasure to spend 2 hours with you, enjoying your mastery and sharing in the joy you have performing! All the best and keep up the good work!

Was at Massey Hall last night – thanks for a spectacular performance…!! The last song of the evening was beautiful (I had forgotten it!) but I don’t remember it’s title… neither did the guy next to me…?
    Cheers and travel well!

Loved the show in Toronto. Pleasantly surprised to see Suzie McNeil! She was fantastic. But, wow! Colin what a show. I was bee bopping in my seat the whole time. It is really music you just feel! Enjoy the rest of the tour.

    Hi Colin,

I saw your show at Massey Hall last night with 3 friends. All I can say is “Awesome”!! I was blown away by your guitar playing, wow!!! I’m in my mid-fifties and just starting playing guitar a couple of years ago, and find myself discovering the blues. It’s like a whole new world of music for me after being caught up in the “classic rock” time-warp for most of my adult life. If you get a chance to read my email, and have the time to answer it at some point, I’d really appreciate knowing about your guitar collection, I noticed you had about 6-7 different guitars last night. They all sounded great, especially the accoustic. I couldn’t make out the headstock from where I was sitting last night, was that a Martin Vintage Series 000-28EC?

Also, what about your Gibson arch-top that you used near the end od the show, it sounded really sweet, what model is that?

One final question, what was the name of the slow blues tune that you did near the end of the show, it might have been one of the numbers you did during the encore?

Thanks for a great show. Unfortunatley my wife missed the show as she had to go to St. Louis on business but I’ve already told her we’ll catch you on your next stop in T.O.!!

    Thanks again and continued success!

    Bruno (aka Broonzy)

Colin, thank you so much for a fantastic and memorable show last night at Massey Hall. I’m currently receiving radiation at PMH for a rare type of cancer and really needed that show!! I saw you in London at Bluesfest in 2008 and partied with you at Friday Knight lights after, however this show had much more meaning than london!! You are fantastic and my fiancee loves Into the mystic!! Have fun and I HOPE to be able to see you perform again!!

    Cheers!! Adrian and Bonnie!!

Hi Colin, or should I say Riff Master/Guitar God… My wife Anna and I attended your amazing show at Massy Hall on Tuesday night. We were both blown away on your and the entre bands slick performance. You are the Master of your Guitar domain. We have been enjoying your music since ’88 but Tuesday night was the first time we were able to experience you live in concert. You definitely lived up to our expectations and as a “Weekend Warrior” guitarist of 35 years I am humbled. Have a great Tour and hope to see you Rock out in the future, know if you would excuse me I need to go practice.
    Ciao For Now.

Another great performance!! Can never believe your talent on the guitar but you sure can make it speak with expressions like no one else! Great choice to have Suzie heat us up.

    Hi Colin,

I saw your show last night in Toronto. It was amazing! Everything was played to utter perfection. You played one song which I loved, but don’t know what it is or how to get a hold of it. You mentioned something about Colin Linden and Nashville satellite??? It was played 3/4 through the concert. Could you please tell me what that song was and how to get a hold of it. I will gladly buy the cd. Thanks.

  18. Satish and Marilyn says:

    Colin,

You’re a hard workin’ man! Loved the show at Massey. The tickets were an anniversary present to each other. Heck of a way to spend it!

    Thanks!

  19. Lisa says:

I’ve never seen you perform live but I’m a huge fan of your Big Band work.
Massey Hall was an amazing performance I was awe struck with how perfect you sounded!

    Hi Colin,

Your Toronto show last night was awesome,(as always).
    Left feeling musically uplifted.
    Come back soon.
Love to see you at the KEE to Bala again!

  21. Tom T says:

    Colin,

Just wanted to say that I’ve been dying to see you live and I finally did so last night! You were AWESOME!

A few questions…are you ever going to release a ‘live’ album? I love all the stuff you have done, but there is a certain something about your live performances that just blow my mind!

Also, I would love to hear your next album go back again to blues. Have you thought of doing any songs from Stevie Ray Vaughan? YouTube has a video of the two of you in Montreal back in ‘91 (I think). You two were ripping it up!

Keep up the good work, sir.

    Tom

I was at your show last night in Hamilton. My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. You are amazing as usual! I love watching you work those guitars, your facial expressions – no words needed. I have followed you since your first album and I love all of your work. Saw you at Lulu’s in Kitchener a few times, Mustang Sally’s in east Hamilton in the mid 90’s and Hamilton Place a few years ago! I especially love when you do the blues. Looking forward to seeing you again soon.
    Travel safely,
    Judy

  23. Rob says:

Caught your show last night at Hamilton place. Man you guys were in a zone! Nice touch with the horns, and nice to see you play that Dobro again. And our local boy Tom?…wow! Can’t wait to hear you again.

  24. Kathy and Jim says:

We saw the show in Hamilton last night – it was really great. We have seen Colin a number of times and it was one of the best. The band was great and Colin was in fine form as usual. We loved his version of Stuck in the Middle with You. It was nice to hear some of the new stuff as well as some old favourites. We also went to the meet and greet afterwards and he was as gracious as always. Thanks for a wonderful show Colin – hope to see you again really soon.

I will see/hear you tonight in Ottawa. I am always thrilled when I hear that you are coming to town. I look forward to sinking into my seat and drowning myself in your music and your sounds and your words. It’s a bit like floating, really. I have my fingers crossed that you will play ‘Crazy Over You’.

  26. Aidan Chisholm says:

Saw you in Ottawa last night. Really enjoyed it. I have been waiting to see you play again for ages. First time I saw you was maybe 20 years ago at Barrymore’s on Bank Street. We had a drink, a chat and you gave me a copy of your CD. Saw you at the Rainbow way back also. I loved your music and energy then and I still love it. I love the diversity you show in your music. Don’t stay away from Ottawa tooo long.
    Take Care

  29. Hi Colin,
Do you remember visiting the small town of Perth,Ont.,in 1993? I think you were performing at Rideau Ferry and you stopped by to visit a Ball Tournament in Perth.(You signed our guest book..my husband organized the Fastball Tournament.)We live in Perth which is about an hour west of Ottawa. We saw your concert in Ottawa on Jan.31,2010 at the National Art Center.

  30. Virginia says:

    Hi Colin,

I just saw you in Ottawa last night. It was a fantastic show and a wonderful birthday present for me. You so rock the blues. Any possibility of releasing a concert DVD? It would be a great birthday present for my husband!

  31. Sharon says:

Hi Colin…. I was at your Massey Hall show. First time seeing you…. it was a great show, and cool to meet you. I was a little surprised that you had teenager stories to exchange, especially with the size of the line-up…. you must’ve been there half the night! I would’ve taken an extra minute to chat had the line been slightly less HUGE. You were right…. you don’t seem them for days on end, but I got mine out THAT night, didn’t I? She loved the show too.

  32. Hanna says:

I am sorry I missed you in Jan. Been a tough year for me…my Dad and my spiritual teacher and mentor both died of cancer from a few months of each other. Your music keeps me alive…when I feel down I go for a late night drive with my Beamer an the sound system is half decent so I put your CD’s on full blast and I drive till your guitar fills me up with joy. Last night I looked at the Speedometer…OMG I was going 190 km’s and I did not know it. Your music puts me on a high. Thank you…You are one of my favorite Canadian Musicians.

    Love and light,

    Hanna Banana
