The concept could've been tired third time 'round, but, if anything, the Vancouver - based rocker takes the intensity up a few notches with his really - no - so - little big band. James's vocals are more confident than ever, but it's the band that keeps it real here, from the keyboard work of Stones touring sideman Chuck Leavell to madly energetic drummer Bob Ruggiero to James's always - impressive lead - guitar work.
