Stride Gum has announced it will give a free coupon for one pack of Stride Gum to a million people if a million people sign the StopUweBoll.org petition by May 14th at 5 pm Eastern Time.

To the uninformed, Uwe Boll has caused quite a stir in the online video game and movie community by what many label as his butchering of video game movie adaptations. He's directed several films - including "House of the Dead," "Alone in the Dark," and "BloodRayne" - which have appeared on critics' and fans' most loathed lists. He's infamously challenged film critics who pan his movies to boxing matches and have actually battled a few. Recently, Boll stated (although we don't know how serious he is about his claim) that if one million people sign a petition to ban him from making movies ever again, he will quit the film industry.

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of "Risky Business" and the beginnings of him becoming a movie star, Tom Cruise has opened his official site at TomCruise.com. Cruise promises news updates behind his projects on the site in addition to his biography, filmography, videos and photos. Missing from the site? Subliminal Scientology recruitment (as far as we know).

Meanwhile, Variety reports today that Cruise is in talks for a fourth "Mission: Impossible" despite Paramount previously announcing that they had severed ties with the actor.

Variety has a story today revealing that McG's "Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins," the first of a planned new trilogy in the "Terminator" franchise, will aim to be a more kid-friendly, PG-13 film. The fourth Terminator movie is aiming for a May 22, 2009 release.

According to the trade, the "Terminator" series is one of the highest-grossing R-rated franchises of all time, with the first three films having grossed more than $1.03 billion worldwide. But Halcyon producers thought it was time to broaden the upcoming fourth film's audience base, and they believe the PG-13 won't compromise the series' gritty vision.

"The ratings have changed," said Halcyon co-founder and co-CEO Victor Kubicek, a broker-turned-writer-producer. "The PG-13 has increased in intensity."

Additionally, a PG-13 rating opens the doors for more licensing opportunities, including Terminator toys.
